18 total (one duplicate) starting at 1995 and up with about 3 missing to make it a complete 1995-2015 run. Just online purchased one of the missing plus this year’s Xmas will bring the 2016 and the son will be looking at 20 total. Knowing myself he will likely have the remaining missing to complete his run by then and we will quest deeper into the older stuff but it starts getting pricy.

Wow. I had a fair few of those that now belong to my son. It’s so much fun to pass them down.

My dad has a few from the 80's. Then all the Hess stores around here closed.

Nice collection! I’ve got a good few of these things myself (they’re all tucked away).
Makes me glad that when Speedway bought Hess’ retail operations, they promised to keep the line going.

my grandparents have bought one for me every year since my mom got pregnant with me (25 in total) literally every one is in its box in my attic in basically unused condition. it will make for a cool toy collection to hand down. i heard some are worth more than others but i’ve never looked into it.

My grandfather bought me Hess trucks until I was 8 or 9...so that would’ve been ‘83 or ‘84. I loved them, but had a habit of putting them away and not touching them for weeks or even months with leaky batteries. All of mine have corrosive damage. I’ve been told that it cleans up, but I’ve yet to try.

I’ve had similar but sometimes depending on the damage you may need to do a little extra work. Nothing a small soldering gun can’t fix. You should give it a try.

I’m talking about the orange battery-acid stains on the plastic bodies. I have no idea if any of the wiring is actually still good.

In fact, there’s still a Hess Truck website, with the 2016 still listed as a secret.
The only problem is, if last year was anything to go by, they won’t be selling them at Speedway stores, but rather online and at special mall kiosks (last year, there were 10: 2 in PA, 4 in NJ, 4 in NY).
